Abstract

The paper presents the first report on the fabrication of an electrochemical sensor with the renewable silver annular band working electrode (RAgABE) and its application for cathodic stripping voltammetric (CSV) determination of Se(IV) in real water samples. The sensor consists of the RAgABE, integrated with the silver annular band counter/quasi-reference electrode (AgABQRE). The sensor body is partly filled with the internal electrolyte solution, in which the RAgABE is cleaned and activated, before each measurement and the analyte is stripped. Time of the RAgABE contact with the sample solution is precisely controlled. The sensor was successfully applied for Se(IV) determination in the Surface Waters SPS-SW1 and SPS-SW2 certified reference materials.
