Abstract

In December 1966, the Walters Art Gallery bought four small Egyptian gold pieces from a group of Egyptian jewelry, which had been collected in Egypt by a business man from New York named Suydam. The objects had been in storage for some 30 years and are thought to have been collected in Egypt considerably before that time. The following brief notes on the pieces are offered in the hope that they may prove of some interest to Egyptologist. I have added a note on one of the Gallery's finest pieces of Egyptian jewelry collected by Mr. Walters because it is closely related to one of our new pieces. Professor Hans Goedicke of Johns Hopkins has been kind enough to give me suggestions on a number of points.
