Abstract

Members of the freshwater bivalve superfamily Unionacea have been collected in the Oswego and Susquehanna watersheds in central New York. Distribution maps show 90 locations where mussels were found by the author between 1963 and 1969. Ecological notes are included concerning habitat distribution and intraspecific variation. Photographs illustrate the display of branchial mantle flaps in Lampsilis cariosa (Say).
