Abstract

Fecal transplantation (FT) is the process of transplanting purified fecal material from a healthy donor to a recipient. The available evidence confirmed the positive role of FT in the treatment of a number of diseases, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The article presents and summarizes the literature data analyzing the existing regimens for the treatment of IBS and their effectiveness, the accumulated experience of using FT in the treatment of IBS.
