Abstract
This paper discusses the development of a series of reliable, universal measuring devices (models OKB.Sh3, OKB.V1, OKB.V3, OKB.U2, and OKB.U3) for inspecting the main parameters of threads in plants making drill-pipe couplings. The OKB.Sh3 device is intended for sample inspection of the pitch in external and internal taper coupling and pipe threads of triangular and trapezoidal profile with large pitch. Such threads are used in drill-pipe couplings, in pipes for geological test drilling, as well as in drill pipes, casing pipes, and pump compressor pipes. Inspection of the pitch in taper threads is done along the genratrix of the cone by the contact method. The device can be adjusted with one thread gage and used for inspecting a range of thread diameters without resetting.
