Abstract

Material removal with the LASERCAV® technology means machining of moulds and dies with the laser beam as a tool. Various structures can be machined in different hardest and even in nonconducting materials. Lasercaving with preselected process paramaters is an Open-Loop Control System. Unconsidered variables, such as unhomogeneous materials, will influence the process negatively. By online measuring of suitable variables and feedback of the deviation values to the laser, a Feedback Control System can be used.
