Abstract

Millimeterwave components and systems for high acceleration applications must be characterized by specific mechanical features, excellent electrical ones being presupposed. Depending on the carrier linear accelerations of up to 20,000 g have to be taken into account. Presently, the most suited technology to meet these demands is integrated waveguide milled block technology. By means of three exemplary components, a broadband circulator, a bandpass filter, and a PIN-switch, all designed for the 94 GHz range, the state of the art is demonstrated. Design criteria defining electrical and mechanical performance are discussed.
