Abstract

For a two user's MIMO interference channel, the design of decoder is important to understand the channel. In this paper, two decoders namely hierarchical constellation based ML decoder and hierarchical constellation based DIC decoder are proposed. For each decoder, analysis of performance based on pair-wise error probability and examples are given, and also comparisons on the performances are made. Analysis shows that, these proposed decoders have lower decoding complexity than the ML decoder, and better performance than the direct decoder, especially when Interference-Noise Ratio (INR) is approaching to or larger than Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). These conclusions are confirmed by simulation results.
