Abstract

Soral clusters of Weichselia reticulata, exposed by opencasting near the village of Escucha, province of Teruel (Aragon, Spain) in the Albian Escucha Formation, provide new information on the morphology, distribution and anatomy of this fern. The soral clusters and their spore contents are figured and described. The different stages of ontogenetic development (ODS) are documented as is the distribution of the spores of W. reticulata within the sporangia before its maturity.
