Abstract

1. New data are presented on the effect of the radioactive radiation of S35 on the rate of isotopic exchange of sulfur at high temperature in the systems\(K_2 \mathop S\limits^* O_4 - SO_3 \) and\(Na_2 \mathop S\limits^* O_4 - SO_3 \) and of oxygen in the system\(Na_2 \mathop S\limits^* O_4 - O_2 ^{18} .\) External irradiation with high-energy electrons only affects the rate of isotopic exchange at higher doses than radioactive radiation. 2. Irradiation of barium sulfate with high-energy electrons and protons leads to a fall in its sorption powers with respect to organic dyes. The prolonged β-decay of S35 forming part of the sorbent has an analogous effect. 3. Potassium sulfate containing S35 has a higher sorption power for methanol vapor than inactive K2SO4. 4. New data are presented on the effect of added radioactive isotopes on the catalytic activity of catalysts. 5. Radioactive radiation affects the solution and solubility of sparingly soluble substances.
