Abstract

Recent finds of ammonoids from the Artinskian-Kungurian deposits of Pay-Khoy are reviewed. Based on these data, the phylogeny and systematics of the family Paragastrioceratidae are studied. It is concluded that at the beginning of the Kungurian a new genus Margoceras gen. nov. appeared and was a transitional link between the Sakmarian-Artinskian genus Paragastrioceras and the Late Kungurian Baraioceras. Three new paragastrioceratid species, Paragastrioceras cantabrignianum sp. nov., Tumaroceras paveli sp. nov. and Margoceras boreale gen. et sp. nov., are described
