Abstract
A new cerebroside, gynuraoside ( 1), was isolated from the aerial parts of Gynura divaricata DC. It was determined to be 1-O-β- d-glucopyranosyl-(2S,3S,4R,10E)-2-[(2′R)-2′-hydroxyldocosanoyl-amino]-10-octadecene-1,3,4-triol on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence. This compound showed strong cytotoxicity against L1210 leukemia cell line in vitro.
