Abstract

New Cross Hospital, part of the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, will become the first centre to handle patients from the national bowel cancer screening programme in England. Invitations to participate in the screening process together with stool testing kits were sent out to people aged 60 to 69 in the area on 3 July from the Midlands and North West programme hub based in Rugby. Nurse-led clinics at the New Cross centre will coordinate the care of those referred from the Rugby hub who have a positive faecal occult blood test (FOBT).
