New coronavirus pneumonia and outbreak epidemic virus and eye disease
Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in Wuhan City, China, the main transmission mode as well as the diagnosis and treatment of NCP have become a focus of research in China and World Health Organizations. Understanding the mode of infection, transmission and biological behavior of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is undoubtedly a key of cutting off the spread and prevention of the disease which doctors are fearing to be a worldwide epidemic. In February 2019, Lancet published a correspondence paper, which reviewed a case of NCP patient who first started with conjunctivitis, and raised the issue that the transmission of 2019-nCoV through the ocular surface must not be ignored, causing widespread concern. However, due to a lack of clinical observation data and laboratory research at present, the relationship between NCP pathogen infection and ocular surface infection is not completely clear. So far, there have been many studies and reports on the observation of large-scale epidemic virus infections and eye diseases. This article reviews the eye performance of various types of epidemic virus infections and provides a reference for NCP prevention and control. Since the emergence of the new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) in Wuhan, Hubei Province in December 2019, there have been outbreaks in other parts of the country and abroad, seriously affecting the lives and health of the people. Except from fever clinic and infectious disease department, it was reported that nosocomial infection has occurred in some general departments. To prevent and control nosocomial infection and the outbreak of new coronavirus pneumonia in hospitals, medical staffs of general departments should implement strict personal protection and environmental management, establish new workflow policy and procedure, and strengthen full humanistic care under the guideline of diagnosis and treatment plan for new coronavirus pneumonia developed by the National Health Service Committee. At the end of 2019, new coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) broke out and spread rapidly in our country. Several kinds of emergency plans for epidemic prevention and control were consulted and prepared in Fifth Medical Center, PLA General Hospital. Some specialists in Department of Surgery and Operation Room also made surgery procedure, infection prevention and control measures for NCP patients, including medical staff management and training, pre-surgical evaluation and preparation of patients, procedures for transferring patients, intraoperative nursing cooperation, disinfection of instruments and environmental objects after surgery. Objective Understand the clinical characteristics of confirmed pneumonia patients infected with new corona virus in secondary epidemic areas and guide the diagnosis and treatment of novel pneumonia in secondary epidemic areas and provide a reference for clinical prevention and control of the epidemic situation. Methods The clinical data of 33 patients admitted with pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from January 15 to February 1, 2020, were retrospectively reviewed. At the onset of the disease, we analyzed the primary symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, chest tightness, chest pain and also a significant blood test results of the patients. According to the patient's contact history, it was divided into the direct infection group of the main epidemic area and the indirect contact infection group of the main epidemic areas. The difference between clinical manifestations among the two groups was analyzed. Results The main clinical symptoms of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia in the secondary epidemic area were respiratory tract and systemic symptoms. After grouping according to the presence and absence of direct contact in the main epidemic area, there was no significant difference in baseline data between the two groups, and there was no significant difference in symptoms and signs between the two groups (P < 0.05). Some patients had serum amyloid protein (SAP) increased abnormall. Conclusions The respiratory tract and systemic symptoms are the primary symptoms of the patients with the new type of coronavirus pneumonia in the secondary epidemic area, which are not typical. The abnormal increase of serum amyloid protein (SAA) may be used as an auxiliary index for diagnosis and treatment. March 2, 2020; Morocco announced its first positive new coronavirus case in a Moroccan from Italy after the epidemic of this new infection emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019. Since then, new coronavirus pneumonia has spread quickly and many countries and territories were affected. Influenza virus, a common virus often occurring in winter as well, appears to be similar to COVID-19 in terms of transmission characteristics [1] [2]. The common clinical manifestations of patients with influenza virus included fever, cough, rhinitis, sore throat, headache, dyspnea, myalgia, and radiographic evidence of pneumonia, which are similar to those of COVID-19 patients [2] [3]. The speed of transmission is an important point of difference between the two viruses. Influenza has a shorter median incubation period and a shorter serial interval than COVID-19 virus. Also the Mortality for COVID-19 appears higher than for influenza, especially seasonal influenza. Currently, there are few specific antiviral strategies, but several potent candidates of antivirals and repurposed drugs are under urgent investigation [4]. Pending the discovery of a specific vaccine or treatment, many have carried out hygienic rules and traditional herbal medicine to prevent or relieve the common symptoms of corona virus diseases (cough; fever; runny nose) and strengthen the immune system. In this mini review, we report traditional recipes based on medicinal plants used in Moroccan folk medicine and known for their virtues therapeutic.

The new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) occurred in Wuhan in December 2019. Subsequent outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a public health emergency of international concern. Epidemiological data showed that the severe COVID-19 patients accounted for as high as 20% or more. In addition to the impairment of respiratory system, acute kidney injury (AKI) remains one of the main complications. Immune damage mediated by cytokine storms and concomitant AKI contribute a key factor of poor prognosis. Based on the previous experience of blood purification in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) combined with clinical front-line practice, we have developed a blood purification protocol for severe COVID-19 patients. This protocol is divided into four major steps: The first step is to assess whether patients with severe COVID-19 need blood purification; the second step is to prescribe a blood purification treatment for COVID-19 patients; the third step is to monitor and adjust the parameters of blood purification; the fourth step is to evaluate the timing of discontinue the blood purification. It is expected that blood purification will play a key role in effectively reducing the mortality of patients with severe COVID-19 through the standardized implementation of the present protocol.

Objective To explore the psychological experience of front-line nurses combating the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) epidemic and provide suggestions and evidence for clinical interventions. Methods From January 25th to 27th, 2020, a semi-structured interview was conducted using phenomenological research methods on 10 front-line nurses combating NCP from a Class III Grade A hospital, and Giorgi phenomenological analysis was used to analyze the data. Results The psychological experience of clinical front-line nurses in this study could boil down to three themes: negative psychological experience (fear, worry, and fatigue), insufficient ability to cope with public health emergencies (insufficient awareness of disease, and insufficient emergency rescue nursing skills), and rational understanding of the fight against the epidemic (a sense of mission and confidence). Conclusions Clinical front-line nurses have different levels of negative psychological experience and lack the ability to respond to public health emergencies. Hospitals should strengthen psychological assistance and humane care for clinical front-line nurses, promote training for emergency disaster rescue nursing, improve hospital emergency management capabilities, and ensure efficient rescue work. Objective To investigate epidemic characteristics of a family aggregation COVID-19, and to provide scientific basis for prevention and control of family aggregation epidemic. Methods] Field epidemiological methods were used to investigate the cases and close contacts of a family aggregation COVID-19 in Y County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. Descriptive statistical analysis was used on epidemiological data . The 2019-nCoV nucleic acid was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR. Results It was found that Ms. Deng was infected with COVID-19 and became the infectious source of the family aggregation epidemic , who had lived in Wuhan Hubei Province. Her boyfriend Mr. Cao became a second-generation case of COVID-19..Another two asymptomatic but infected persons were family members living with Ms.Deng . Conclusion COVID-19 easily spreads within families. The awareness of family members' protection, the education of new coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control in key groups should be strengthened to avoid the occurrence and spread of family aggregation epidemic. At the end of December 2019, a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) caused an outbreak in Wuhan, and has quickly spread to all provinces in China and 26 other countries around the world, leading to a serious situation for epidemic prevention. So far, there is still no specific medicine. Previous studies have shown that chloroquine phosphate (chloroquine) had a wide range of antiviral effects, including anti-coronavirus. Here we found that treating the patients diagnosed as novel coronavirus pneumonia with chloroquine might improve the success rate of treatment, shorten hospital stay and improve patient outcome. In order to guide and regulate the use of chloroquine in patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia, the multicenter collaboration group of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and Health Commission of Guangdong Province for chloroquine in the treatment of novel coronavirus pneumonia developed this expert consensus after extensive discussion. It recommended chloroquine phosphate tablet, 500mg twice per day for 10 days for patients diagnosed as mild, moderate and severe cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia and without contraindications to chloroquine.

Objective To provide reference for clinical case diagnosis and treatment applications using descriptive analysis of patient-specific IgM and IgG test results of new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19). Methods Chemical luminescence was used to detect the levels of 423 confirmed or suspected cases of IgM and IgG antibody, and the test results of patients with different clinical characteristics were compared and analyzed. Results The positive rates of confirmed cases of COVID-19 were 80.4% (314/388) and 98.2% (381/388), for IgM and IgG respectively, and the positive rates of COVID-19 suspected cases of specific IgM and IgG were 0.0% (0/24) and 45.8% (11/24), respectively. In patients diagnosed at 6 weeks or more, the positive rate of IgG antibody was 100%. The level of IgG titer was generally higher in cases of 5-8 weeks (mean: 112.70 AU/ml) than in cases of 1-4 weeks (mean: 85.01 AU/ml) (U=8531, P<0.0001). The level of IgG titer was higher than that of patients with normal type and severe illness, with an average of 137.61 AU/ml. Conclusions Specific IgM and IgG have strong application value in COVID-19 case diagnosis, and it is recommended to strengthen the tracking and monitoring of IgM and IgG titer levels in patients. [Objective] To explore the transmission pattern of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in the population by describing an imported case of novel coronavirus infected pneumonia epidemic situation. [Methods] Using the method of field investigation, epidemiological investigations were carried out for the imported NCP case and the close contacts related to this epidemic cluster. Data were collected such as the date of onset, isolation of the case and the close contacts. The novel coronavirus nucleic acid was collected from the throat swabs of the case and the close contacts. These samples were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR. [Results] In this epidemic cluster, the imported NCP case introduced to Yangzhou had effected 36 people (12 people in the family and 24 people outside the family) and 2 people in the family were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections. [Conclusion] In the process of transmission, NCP mainly exists in respiratory droplets and close contact transmission, which is easy to cause family aggregation epidemic.
