Abstract

In Georgia, the coverage rate of vaccination against COVID-19 is low. A significant proportion of the population refuses to receive this vaccine. Our study aimed to identify the factors that contributed to avoiding vaccination. Out of 82 respondents, not vaccinated against the new coronavirus infection, 16 (19.51%) refused vaccination due to religious beliefs, 15 (18.29%) believed that vaccines had a negative impact on the human genetic system; 14 (17.08%) noted that the safety of these vaccines has been studied appropriately and 14.63% of respondents believed that vaccines are not able to protect individuals from the infection. According to our recommendation, it is necessary to increase awareness of the population about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines against COVID-19.
