Abstract
This paper gives an overview about recent activities in the industrial application of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells. It also presents the latest results achieved at Fraunhofer ISE, especially a new patented process for the formation of back-contact points on dielectrically passivated cells called laser-fired contacts and its application to thin wafers.
