Abstract
The Internet with the runner of the global network is being currently used with an existence for over 30 years, since the Internet was proposed for the first time in 1974. But, recently, as many problems and limitations on the current Internet have been reported and figured out, the Future Network research based on "Clean Slate design" method is actively progressed. In the paper, we discuss new challenges on Future Network and summarize current standardization activities in ITU-T and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6. Firstly the background and problems of the current Network are looked into with the research background. The requirement and design objective for the Future Network will be discussed. In addition, we present the analysis results about gap between other new standard technologies, such as NGN, IPv6, etc.
