Abstract

New representatives of the family Vitimotauliidae (Multimodus amplus sp. nov., Purbimodus parvulus sp. nov., Burimodus novus gen. et sp. nov.) and a new species of the family Philopotamidae (Juraphilopotamus callidus sp. nov.) from the Lower Cretaceous of Russia (Republic of Buryatia, Khasurty locality) are described. Keys to of genera of the family Vitimotauliidae and species of genera of Purbimodus and Juraphilopotamus, as well as tables showing geological and geographical distribution of fossil caddisflies of families Vitimotauliidae and Philopotamidae, are given. The analysis of the stratigraphic distribution of caddisflies indicates that the age of the Khasurty deposits is no younger than the beginning of the Early Cretaceous.
