Abstract

Following the broad scenario of the potentials of agricultural biotechnology for developing countries presented in Chapter 2, the purpose of this chapter is to more narrowly focus on microbial biotechnology applications in agriculture. The chapter also deals with its applications in food production and processing. Discussions on the potentials of these biotechnologies and of some selected micropropagation techniques for developing countries are carried out in the context of a broader rural development framework.KeywordsRural DevelopmentCocoa ButterFinger MilletMicrobial ProteinHigh Fructose Corn SyrupThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
