Abstract

New bishydrazones were prepared from a photochromic spiropyran of the benzoxazinonium series, containing free functional groups in the 2[H]-chromene moiety. This bishydrazones form binuclear complexes with copper(II) ions. The structure of these complexes was studied by ESR spectroscopy and magnetic measurements. The magnetochemical study revealed antiferromagnetic exchange coupling in the complexes.
