Abstract

The article examines the novel of the great enlightener and pedagogue Khachatur Abovyan “The History of Tigran or Moral Instructions for Armenian Children” written during the last years of his life, and also touches upon his pedagogical and educational views, methodology, the concept of the formation of a new intelligentsia, new Rousseauism, the concept of the activities of an intellectual-pedagogue, the images of the novel and the typology. The objective of the article is to reveal the content and functional significance of the work by comparing the methods used in the 21st century. The purpose of the article is to emphasize the fact that Abovyan’s novel up to this day has retained its educational and cognitive significance and can be used in the process of the development of a person. When conducting historical analysis, we have used comparative- historical, comparative, as well as analytical methods. So, Abovyan, since in the first half of the 19th century, was the first to introduce the elements of a system of interactive teaching methods into the Armenian reality, which by the end of the 20th century started dominating in the educational system of the Armenian reality under the name of interactive teaching.
