Abstract

ABSTRACT A new astrophysical reaction rate for 12C(α, γ)16O has been evaluated on the basis of a global R-matrix fitting to the available experimental data. The reaction rates of 12C(α, γ)16O for stellar temperatures between 0.04 ≤ T 9 ≤ 10 are provided in a tabular form and by an analytical fitting expression. At T 9 = 0.2, the reaction rate is (7.83 ± 0.35) × 1015 cm3 mol−1 s−1, where stellar helium burning occurs.
