New aspects of hypernuclear structure —Parity-mixing intershell coupling induced by Λ

Abstract

A possibility has been pointed out that the Λ particle induces new coupling between natural-parity states and unnatural-parity states of the core nucleus via the Λ s-p mixing. The two components coexist energetically, so that the aspect is expected generally in hypernuclei. Such effect should be taken into account even when one extracts the Λ spin-orbit splitting, for example, from hypernuclear structure calculations.
