Abstract

Purpose of the work: to improve the results of treatment of soft tissue phlegmon of the maxillofacial region, by using an individual approach in determining the risk of postoperative complications and their prevention.
Material and methods. The analysis of the results of treatment of 106 patients with soft tissue phlegmon of the maxillofacial region for the period from 2015—2022 was carried out. To determine the severity of the course of the pathological process, to develop tactics for managing patients in the postoperative period, an individual rating scale was proposed (RF patent No. 2617065*). Three degrees of phlegmon flow are distinguished. According to the treatment-diagnostic and rehabilitation algorithms, the patients were divided into two groups (I — main, n=54; II — control, n=52). Surgical treatment of phlegmon was carried out according to the original technique (RF patent No. 2557414**). The complex of diagnostic and treatment methods included, in addition to traditional ones, the method of monitoring tissue pressure, EMG of masticatory muscles, assessment of myofascial pain syndrome according to the method of F.A. Khabirov.
