Abstract

This paper is based on a keynote presentation given at the Skills for Health/Skills for Care New Ways of Working conference held in London in 2010. It discusses how new ways of working have been deployed in health and social care to achieve productive workforce change through optimizing skills and the skills mix. Examples of recent productive workforce changes facilitated by Skills for Health are considered.
