Abstract

1. The long-term investigations of LIIZhT showed that it is expedient to introduce water-soluble resins into the composition of concretes and mortars. All proposed resins plasticize in varying degrees concrete and mortar mixes, preserve high mobility for the necessary time, and reduce separation of water and segregation of the mixes during transportation. 2. Some resins (AR, FRES, urea and aliphatic epoxy resins) can be used as active regulators of the setting and hardening time. In this case the strength of the specimens is with-in the grade strength. Resin No. 89 and aliphatic epoxy resins increase the strength of concretes at all ages. 3. All resins are produced by industry and can be accessible for any large construction project. Experience with the use of water-soluble resins shows that their addition to the composition of concretes is economically expedient. 4. Of the proposed additives, resin No. 89, aliphatic epoxy resins DEG-1 and TEG-1, urea resins MMF-50, KS-68, M-19-62, M-70, etc., have found use in construction practice [2]. In particular, resin No. 89 was used in the reinforced-concrete lining of tunnels and is used when injecting mortars behind linings and for creating waterproofing on highway bridge and at sewage plants. Aliphatic epoxy resins are used in grouting wells.
