Abstract

The syntheses of novel 2-(2-pyridyl)-6-alkyl piperidines are reported using intramolecular Mannich-based methodology. Preliminary evaluation of the catalytic activity of the corresponding (diamine)Pd(II) complexes in the preparation of biaryl derivatives through Suzuki-type coupling reaction showed high to quantitative conversions and catalyst loadings as low as 10 −3 mol %.
