Abstract

We extend the work of Krichever and Novikov on Virasoro type algebras by constructing Neveu-Schwarz and Ramond type superalgebras on genus-g Riemann surfaces. We realize these superalgebras and their central extension in the framework of superstring theory. We construct the corresponding BRST operators, which turn out to be nilpotent in ten dimensions.
