Abstract

Background and Aim: The efficiency of single step and sequential media on oocyte maturation, embryo quality and implantation rates is still debatable. However, no study has been focused so far on their potential effect on DNA methylation process, one of the epigenetic mechanisms which play important roles during oogenesis. The most vital enzymes regulating DNA methylation are DNMT1 and DNMT3A. Primary function of DNMT1 is maintenance methylation, while DNMT3A is responsible for de novo methylation.
