Abstract

In a previous calculation of npγ using potentials1 the coupling of the electromagnetic field to the nucleon currents was obtained in the usual way using the principle of minimal electromagnetic coupling in the kinetic-energy part of the hamiltonian only. This prescription is not fully gauge invariant because of the exchange nature and momentum dependence of the two-nucleon potentials. The hamiltonian resulting from this minimal coupling is shown in Eq. (1).
