Abstract
Binding energies, with the effects of Coulomb repulsion and nuclear attraction included, are analysed for some light neutron-rich nuclei. Within the cluster-core picture, the halo structure of these nuclei seems to prefer stable cores with neutron numbers N=2Z, 2Z-2 or 2Z-4, which suggests that neutron clusters that are heavier than dineutrons also exist.
