Abstract

Molecular mobility of poly(butylmethacrylate) isomers, which differ in the length and microstructure of the side chain, is investigated with elastic temperature scans applying neutron backscattering. The onset of dynamics can be described by a distribution of rotation rate originating from the dynamics of the methyl groups in the sidechain which sense various local environments.
