Abstract

Neutron reflection measurements have been made on block copolymers adsorbed onto single crystal quartz. The effect of solvent quality on the segment density distribution of the adsorbed polymer layer has been clearly observed. The presence of a layer of bound water at the quartz surface has also been observed, emphasising the need for caution when interpreting the results of this type of experiment.KeywordsBlock CopolymerInterference FringeQuartz SurfaceSolvent QualityScattering Length DensityThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
