Abstract

Abstract Five Ni-Al binary alloys with aluminum levels of 1.1, 2.6, 4.2, 7.1 and 13.3 wt% were irradiated at eight temperatures ranging from 400 to 650°C in the EBR-II fast reactor. The density changes induced during irradiation were found to be strongly dependent on both aluminum content and the irradiation temperature. Dynamic solute redistribution caused by radiation-induced segregation and the temperature-dependent foramtion of γ' phase also appear to contribute significantly to the density changes.
