Abstract

Abstract The Interfacultair Reactor Instituut (IRI), affiliated with the Delft University of Technology, is the Dutch university center for research, education and training in areas where its nuclear reactor, radionuclides, ionizing radiation and related expertise play a central role. The research activities are carried out in four research departments: Radiochemistry (neutron activation analysis and production of radionuclides), Radiation Chemistry (interaction of high-energy radiation with matter), Radiation Physics (neutron scattering, application of polarized neutron beams, and Mossbauer spectroscopy) and Reactor Physics (health physics and dosimetry, nuclear reactors and radiation damage in materials). There is a separate department for Training Courses (radiation health physics, radiochemistry and reactor physics).
