Abstract

The absolute spectral response of a 2″ × 2″ NaI(Tl) crystal to monoenergetic neutrons of 0.205, 0.925, 3.05 and 15.08MeV. energy is presented. The number of counts/MeV per neutron/cm 2 incident on the front face of the crystal is plotted as a function of pulse height. For neutrons of 0.205 and 0.925 MeV, the counts due to I 128 activity are separated from the prompt gamma rays.
