Abstract

Mixed perovskite samples, Ca 1− x Sr x TiO 3, produced as solid ceramic materials, have been characterized using dynamic modulus and internal friction. These provide evidence for structural instabilities which have then been studied in detail using high-resolution neutron diffraction at particular temperatures using selected samples. Structural refinements indicate a low-temperature structural distortion to an orthorhombic Pbcm structure doubled along the c-axis. Details of the results and their analysis are presented and discussed in relation to other literature data for these mixed perovskite systems.
