Abstract

The search for nonstatistical effects in neutron capture reactions proceeds over a wide range of neutron energies. The experimental data from thermal capture and from resolved resonances in the eV and keV regions are generally analyzed in terms of correlations between partial radiation widths and neutron widths of final states and (for resonances) of initial states. Correlations between the widths imply nonstatistical effects in the capture reaction mechanism as shown by Lane [1].
