Abstract

Neutron radiative capture cross sections have been measured using a Moxon-Rae detector, for neutrons near 30 keV. A time-of-flight system with less than 3 ns resolution and a 7 cm flight path has been shown applicable to small sample measurements. Cross sections at 30 keV for Mo, Cd, Sn, Ta, W, Pt and Au and cross sections versus energy for fluorine, sulphur and yttrium are presented.
