Abstract

The 1999 Neutron and Muon User's Meeting (NMUM'99) was held at Collingwood College, University of Durham, UK from September 9–10. The objective of the meeting, organized and funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), was to provide an informal forum for researchers, both young and established, to discuss the current operations and future opportunities for ISIS and the ILL. It also provided a platform, in the form of a poster session, for Ph.D. students, researchers and facility staff to present recent results; prizes were awarded for the five best contributions. The meeting was attended by 135 participants from 32 different institutions, both academic and industrial, and was chaired by Andrew Harrison (Edinburgh University).
