Abstract

We have studied a behavior of a flux pinning property with fast neutron and electron irradiation for (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy compounds. In the neutron irradiation case, the critical current density (Jc) was increased with the irradiation in relatively low temperature region, while, in high temperature region, Jc was decreased. In the electron irradiation case, Jc was increased with the irradiation at the fluence of 5×1017 e/cm2 and then with further irradiation at 2×1018 e/cm2 Jc was decreased. From the distribution of the pinning energies, the deeper pinning centers were increased with the irradiation, which is remarkable for the neutron irradiated sample.
