Abstract

We develop the quasi-classical theory of the spin light of neutrino (SLν) in background matter accounting for the neutrino polarization. The neutrino transition νL→νR and νR→νL rates in matter are calculated. As a result of the SLν in matter, the active left-handed neutrinos νL are converted to the sterile right-handed states νR (the neutrino self-polarization effect in matter).
