Abstract

If non-baryonic dark matter exists in the form of neutralinos, they may accumulate in massive celestial bodies leading to a neutrino flux from the decay products of neutralino pair annihilation. Data taken with high energy neutrino telescopes can be used in a search for this indirect dark matter signal. We will present current results from searches for neutralinos accumulated in the Earth and the Sun, using AMANDA data from 1997–1999 and 2001 respectively. We also discuss future improvements for higher statistics AMANDA data samples acquired during recent years and the indirect dark matter detection prospects for the 1 km3 IceCube detector, currently under construction at the South Pole.
