Abstract

The present paper proposes stability analysis and diagnosis methods for neutral systems with variable time delay. Stability condition depending on delay value, is proposed using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii approach for the neutral system with variable delay and robust control. A new unknown input observer is designed as a diagnosis approach with two new conditions to decoupling the effect of fault and disturbances in the residual comportment for the stabilized neutral system. Important conditions were introduced to guarantee the UIO application for the neutral system with variable time delay. Finally, a numerical example proves the effectiveness of obtained stability approach and the designed UIO applied for the neutral system with variable time delay achieves fault detection.
