Abstract

Anisotropy patterns of ESR T 1 and line width at 300 K and at 50 MHz, and of 1H NMR T 1 at 13.8 MHz in stretch oriented pristine trans -polyacetylene have been measured. Phases and shapes of anisotropy of ESR T 1 and NMR T 1 were well understood by rapid 1-D diffusion of neutral solitons. Only one exception was line width of t-(CH) x, which could be reasonably interpreted by the trapping effect. This result means that in analyses of the neutral soliton dynamics, effects by trapping should be taken into account.
