Abstract

The infrared spectra of the high pressure, quasi-ionic phase of the title compound are presented and interpreted. Under the used experimental conditions, the high pressure phase has a dimerized stack structure, like the low-temperature one, but a larger degree of ionicity: 0.84 vs. 0.64. Both transitions are then from a quasi neutral (degree of ionicity: 0.24) regular stack, to a quasi ionic dimerized stack phase. However, the two neutral-ionic phase transitions seem to be characterized by slightly different mechanisms.
