E. ; Dickey, J. M. ; Salpeter, E. E. ; Terzian, Y. Abstract Neutral hydrogen emission-absorption observations are reported for some high-velocity clouds at moderately low galactic latitudes. Absorption features have been detected in the direction of the background source 3C 123 at -57 and -73 km/s, and possibly in the direction of 4C 33.48 at -128 km/s. From these observations a temperature range from about 75 K to a few hundred K is suggested. Some H I spatial variations on a small scale (at most approximately 4 arcmin) have been found.
