Abstract

The electron energy spectrum in nuclear β-decays is affected by the weak neutral current interaction in nuclei to the order of several eV. The effect may present a serious obstacle to future measurements of the neutrino mass within the accuracy of a few eV but, once observed, it may be very useful for measurements of the weak mixing angle and the quark density in nuclei.
