Abstract

Abstract The reaction between mononuclear gold complexes, containing a poorly coordinating anionic (OClO3 −) or neutral (tetrahydrothiophen or dimethylsulphide) ligand, and pseudohalide gold complexes leads to binuclear neutral or anionic derivatives of the types (C6F5)AuXAuPPh3, (C6F5)AuXAu(C6F5)2PPh3, (C6F5)3 AuXAuPPh3, (C6F5)3AuXAu(C6F5)2PPh3 or Ph3BzP[(C6F5) AuXAu(C6F5)] (X being SCN or N3). The (2:l) reaction of Q[(C6F5)AuX] or Q[(C6F5)3AuX] with AgClO4 leads also to anionic binuclear complexes of the types Q[(C6F5)AuXAu(C6F5)] or Q(C6F5)AuXAu (C6F5)3] (Q being Ph3BzP or μ-nitrido-bis(triphenylphosphorus); X being SCN or N3).
