Abstract

The sharpest critics of Judaism and early Christianity belong to the physician Galen, born in 129 AD in Pergamon. Galen criticism applies quite an important train of the biblical image of God, and he turns out at the same time as a legacy of Hippocrates (ca. 460-370 BC). Onset ancient medical tradition, for them there is not a fundamental opposition between medicine and religion, nor even of medicine and miracles, they worshiped the God Askle-PIOs, and at the large sanctuaries such as in Epidaurus, the most remarkable healing miracles in Kos happen apparently right next to the Medical Academy. In the present in large numbers to work the neutestament union miracle stories of comparison with ancient medicine is almost never come into view, if need be at the very edge. In addition to the Old Testament prophecies, the miracles had to provide evidence of Christology in the older Protestant dogmatics. .
